Exploring Atlanta with some of my favorite photographers
I had been antsy to get out and start taking pictures again of something other than my living room and the people in it. Roland was three weeks old, and I was feeling pretty good, so we decided to join several other Atlanta photographers on the Clickin Walk. I had never been on a photo walk before, and while it was out of my comfort zone, I can assure you that I will definitely be going again. I don't think I will ever tire of photographing kids; however, it was really refreshing to observe the world around me without worrying about kids running off or climbing on everything. With my lens not focused on my own kids or a client's family, I was free to look up and around and pay more attention to light, colors, and composition as subjects. Instead of focusing on capturing children playing, I was able to play around with my camera settings, try out new things, and actually converse with grown ups. We met up at City Winery at Ponce City Market, and then we walked the Beltline for a little bit before heading to Skyline Park on the roof of Ponce City Market. I really want to start a practice of going on photo walks and challenging myself to make pictures that don't include children.
